ASIA BOOK AWAWRDS

Asia Book Awards is a new forum for ideas and cultural exchange with asian publishers, writers, and scholars.

Asia Book Awards is the flagship event celebrating the achievements of Asian publishing culture, succeeding the Paju Book Awards, which began in 2012, and has been organized by Korea Publishers Society since 2021.

Established to promote the shared values and zeitgeist of Asian publishing cultures, Asia Book Awards will strengthen the cultural solidarity of Asian publishers and highlight the rich textual and cultural diversity of Asia.

Asia Book Awards: Operational Guidelines

1. The Asia Book Awards are given every year to two winners in each of the following categories: the category of humanities and academic books with the theme of Asia and the category of general books with a large number of readers by sharply capturing the changes in modern society.

2. The Asia Book Awards Committee comprises publishers, scholars and critics from various countries in Asia, including Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

3. Each award winner is given a statute, a plaque and prize money. The statute design is the work of the Korean sculptor Mr. Jung Hyun and takes the form of a crane, which symbolizes Paju and books.

4. The award ceremony is an important occasion, which invites publishers and intellectuals from Korea and the rest of Asia to celebrate the awards and engage in friendly exchange and interaction..
